Program Overview

The EV Fast Charging Program supports the delivery of high-powered, public fast-charging stations across NSW, ensuring EV drivers can travel confidently between metropolitan and regional areas.

Funded sites must be publicly accessible and strategically located to ensure charging stations are no more than 100 km apart along major roads and highways.

Why It Matters NSW’s co-funded fast chargers:

  • Deliver a 10–80% charge in 10–15 minutes

  • Are universal and brand-agnostic

  • Include accessible bays and 24/7 remote monitoring

  • Are powered by 100% renewable energy, with solar and battery storage at many sites

Funded projects aim to:

  • Fill EV charging blackspots across NSW

  • Overcome range anxiety with a broad, accessible charging network

  • Ensure connectivity between metropolitan and regional areas

  • Future-proof the EV charging network past 2030

  • Support projects that would not have otherwise happened
